Note on data transfer to the USA

Our website includes tools from companies based in the USA. Your personal data may be transferred to the US servers of the corresponding companies when these tools are active. We would point out that the USA is not a secure third country within the meaning of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to pass on personal data to security agencies without you, the data subject, being able to take legal steps to prevent this.
It can therefore not be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) process, evaluate and permanently store your data located on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence over such processing activities.

5. Data collection on our website

Cookies

Our website uses "cookies ". Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
In some cases, cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your device when you access our site (third-party cookies). These enable us or you to use certain services provided by the third-party company (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behaviour or display advertising.
Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process (essential cookies) or to provide certain functions desired by you (functional cookies, e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies to measure our web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies to ensure the
technically sound and optimised provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies has been requested, the storage of the cookies in question is based exclusively on this consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR); consent can be withdrawn at any time.

You can configure your browser in such a way that you are informed when cookies are set and are able to choose whether to accept them in each individual case only, or whether to reject cookies in specific cases or generally, as well as choose to activate the automatic deletion cookies when you close your browser. The functionality of our website may be restricted if you choose to deactivate cookies.
We will inform you separately about cookies used by third parties or for analytical purposes as part of this privacy policy and, if necessary, ask for your consent.

Mandatory statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

We use Usercentrics to obtain consent for the use of certain technologies as required by law. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR.

6. Analytical tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses features of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of visitors to the website.
In this case, the website operator will receive a reange of data on use, such as page views, duration of visit, operating systems used and the origin of the user. This data may be summarised by Google in a profile that is assigned to the user in question or to their device.
Google Analytics uses technologies that enable users to be identified for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
The use of this analytical tool is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. If corresponding consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), processing is performed exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR; consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Data transfer to the USA is covered by the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.
You can find details here:

The full IP address will only be transferred to one of Google's servers located in the USA and abridged there in exceptional cases. Google will use this information on behalf of the website operator for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services to the website operator relating to website activity and Internet usage. The IP address transferred by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google.

Browser plugin

You can prevent Google from collecting and processing your data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Data stored by Google at user and event level that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. User ID) or advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) will be anonymised or deleted after 14 months. You can find details on this under the following link:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=en

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising tool provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed on the basis of the user data available at Google (e.g. location data and interests) (target group targeting). As the operator of the website, we can evaluate this data quantitatively by analysing, for example, which search terms have resulted in the display of our advertisements and how many advertisements have led to corresponding clicks.
The use of Google Ads is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in marketing its service products as effectively as possible.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.

6. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you together with information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address specified, and that you agree to the receipt of the newsletter.

We use what is known as a double opt-in procedure to ensure that the newsletter is delivered in accordance with your wishes. This procedure allows a potential recipient to be added to a distribution list. The user is then given the opportunity to confirm registration in a legally compliant manner by means of a confirmation e-mail. The address will only be activated in the distribution list once it has been confirmed.

We use this data for the sole purpose of sending the requested information and offers.

Newsletter2Go is used as the newsletter software. Your data will be transmitted to Newsletter2Go GmbH. Newsletter2Go is prohibited from selling your data and using it for purposes other than sending newsletters. Newsletter2Go is a certified German provider that was selected in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Federal Data Protection Act.

You can find further information here: https://www.newsletter2go.de/informationen-newsletter-empfaenger/

You can withdraw your consent to the storage of such data and your e-mail address and to their use for the distribution of the newsletter at any time, for example via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.

Data protection measures are always subject to technical developments. For this reason, we would ask you to keep up to date with our data protection measures at regular intervals by consulting our privacy policy.

7. Plug-ins and tools

Google Web Fonts

This site uses Web Fonts from Google in order to display fonts in a uniform manner. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display text and fonts correctly.

The browser you use must connect to Google's servers in order for this to happen. This allows Google to know that our website has been accessed from your IP address. We use Google Web Fonts to ensure a uniform and appealing presentation of our online service. This constitutes a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Your computer will use a default font if your browser does not support Web Fonts.

You can find more information about Google Web Fonts at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

YouTube with enhanced data protection

This website embeds YouTube videos. The operator of these pages is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use YouTube in enhanced data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch a video. However, the enhanced data protection mode does not necessarily exclude the transfer of data to YouTube partners. Thus, YouTube will establish a connection to the Google DoubleClick network, regardless of whether you watch a video.
A connection to YouTube's servers will be established once you play a YouTube video on this website. The YouTube server will be informed of the pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to match your surfing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
Furthermore, after you start a video, YouTube may store various cookies on your device or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting). This allows YouTube to obtain information about visitors to this website. Such information is used, for example, to collect video statistics, to improve your user experience and to prevent attempted fraud.
In some cases, further data processing operations over which we have no control may be triggered after a YouTube video starts.
We use YouTube in order to present our online service in an appealing way. This constitutes a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is performed exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR; consent can be withdrawn at any time.
You can find more information about data protection at YouTube in its privacy policy at:
https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
